Camp description: A week long opportunity to build fluency through indoor and outdoor games as well as celebrate math in everyday life! We empower children to see its relevance beyond the classroom. Inside the gallery, roomies play tabletop games that can be played at home as well. These games all focus on strategy, reasoning, and friendly competition. Room 17’s unique curriculum also engages roomies in games outside, with lots of movement using frisbees, balls, and hula hoops. Roomies engage in active play while reinforcing mathematical reasoning. We will walk to local businesses to showcase how math is integral to their operations and provides the opportunity for “roomies” to see how math is used in every day life!
